Wouldn’t it be nice to enjoy all the festive chocolate you want without any of the guilt? Well, here at EQ, we believe that you should be able to treat yourself to some light and sweet chocolaty treats this Christmas (without going up a size with every mouthful!) We know it sounds too good to be true, but take a peek at our secretly healthy chocolate recipes, and you’ll be surprised at how good well-being can taste! Enjoy in moderation, of course ;)



Smoothie Bowl – Irresistibly fresh

This bowl of fresh, creamy goodness is perfect for breakfast or as a snack. It’s chock-full of energy without being too heavy on the calories!

Serves 2. Preparation time: 10 mins.

For the smoothie:

  • 2 bananas
  • 20cl plant milk
  • 8 ice cubes
  • 4 tbsp raw cacao powder

For the topping:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp fresh coconut shavings
  • 2 tbsp raw cacao nibs
  • A handful of hazelnuts


Method (for the smoothie):

Peel and chop the bananas, and place them in the blender with the milk, ice and cacao.

Blend until thick and smooth.

Pour the mixture into 2 bowls and keep cool while preparing the topping separately.


Method (for the topping):

Peel and chop the banana.

Crush the hazelnuts.

Spread these and the rest of the topping ingredients on the top – we’ll leave the presentation to you!


Avocado Brownies – A unique vegan treat

There’s nothing bad about being unique – in fact, these are the brownies that other brownies look up to! The natural fat of the avocado makes the brownie gorgeously creamy, and seeing as there’s no butter in the mix, there’s nothing to feel guilty about!

Ingredients :

  • 180g dark chocolate
  • 150g avocado
  • 50g cornflour
  • 20g raw cacao powder
  • 20g flour
  • 60g coconut sugar
  • 2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 sachet of yeast


Method:

Préchauffez le four à 160°C (th. 5-6).

Break up the dark chocolate and melt in a bowl over simmering water.

Mix the bicarbonate of soda and cider vinegar in a bowl and let it rest for 5 minutes to form a mousse. Add the sugar and stir, then, add the avocado and vanilla extract and mix until a smooth batter has formed.

Add the melted chocolate and mix it all together. Lastly, add the flour, cornflour, cacao and yeast and mix well.

Pour the batter into a greased mould and cook in the oven for 25 minutes.

Remove from the oven and enjoy warm or cold!

Choco Mug Cake – Pure pleasure !

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp plain flour
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened raw cacao powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • ¼ spoon coconut oil
  • 15g organic greek yoghurt
  • 1 tbsp whole milk
  • ¼ spoon vanilla extract


Method:

Use a non-stick mug or coat your mug with a non-stick lining.

In a small bowl, mix the flour, cacao powder, baking powder and salt.

In another bowl, mix the coconut oil, greek yoghurt, milk, maple syrup and vanilla.

Mix everything together and add flour.

Pour the batter into your mug, and warm in the microwave for 2m30s.

Enjoy!

Chocolate Fondants – Deliciously healthy

Treat yourself to a bite (or two) of pure chocolate bliss – without any of the guilt! These light fondants ditch the fat, so there’s nothing to regret here!

Serves 4. Preparation time: 30 mins

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • 100g dark chocolate
  • 100g fromage blanc
  • 30g coconut sugar
  • 1 tsp riceflour


Method:

Preheat the oven to 180°C and melt the chocolate in a bowl over simmering water.

Separate the egg yolks and place them in a salad bowl. Keep the whites in a separate bowl.

Add the sugar, flower, fromage blanc and melted chocolate into the salad bowl.

Whisk the egg whites and add them to the mixture.

Mix until uniform and pour the mixture into small silicone moulds.

Place the moulds into the oven for 15-20 minutes.
