Position du lotus
A yoga mat is essential for a good practice of yoga. As it is usually the case, you put the mat on the floor, you breathe, you roll it out, then you roll it back up again without necessarily seeing that is has got dirty. You are bare feet and keep putting your hands on it, and sometimes you will lie on your front on the mat, or even rest your chin on it. You lie down and your skin stays in contact with the material all the time.

Because the mat can accumulate dirt from use over time, it is advised that you clean it regularly.

EQ has created a 100% natural recipe for you from a base of essential

and non-toxic oils so that you don’t breathe the chemical vapours and also don’t stain your mat.

It’s better to use this solution than putting it in the washing machine, where you risk it becoming stained or ending up in a poor state.
Plus, the essential oils don’t just have a natural cleansing effect but also a positive spiritual effect.

This recipe avoids any skin irritation from unsuitable washing products and is very simple to make.

Ingredients:
  • One spray bottle
  • ¾ water
  • ¼ alcohol-free white vinegar
  • 8 – 10 drops of essential tea tree oil
  • 3 – 5 drops of essential lavender oil

Don’t worry, the smell of the essential oils will not stay on the mat.

Mix the ingredients together in the bottle and spray onto a cloth or directly onto the mat itself to clean it.

Your mat will now be as clean and as good as new! You can spray it on after every yoga session.

Make sure you don’t leave your spray bottle in the sun as the essential oils are photosensitive.

You can also vary the essential oils you use: why not try eucalyptus, vanilla, or another fragrance you enjoy?
