Richie Vaculik, called “Vas”, because his name was too complicated to pronounce, is born in Maroubra, in the south of Sydney. He always live there.

He began to surf with Mark while they were children both of them, and this friendship is indestructible since this period. After the High school, he became craftsman and he took advantage of the slightest spare time to surf the most biggest waves in Australia, but also in Tahiti, in the Filipinas, in Fiji, etc.

He discover martial arts, like a means to training and channel his concentration, but his talent brings him quickly to the competition. Now, he dedicate himself to it full-time and he became within 5 years one of the best in this discipline in Australia. He reaches now, to the international level, while continuing to surf the biggest waves on earth.
